Kiku Sparse

Vase Kiku Sparse

designer Ermanno Toso
1956
H 37 cm

The Kiku murrina is an original design by Ermanno Toso. Designed in the early 1950s, it was declined in different versions, shapes and colors.
At the beginning of the 1960s a commemorative publication was produced by the Fratelli Toso company - on the occasion of its 110th anniversary - where all the murrinas designed since the post-World War II period were listed in full.
The colors and shapes lead us back to the exact period of creation and allow us to accurately date each work.
The murrine Kiku recalls the motif of a stylized flower and is one of the most representative designs of Ermanno Toso's work. In this vase, one-off piece, the kiku murrines are scattered on monochromatic yellow murrines; the real mastery in its making lies in the working of the murrines without any deformation.
