The Spazio Fornace occupies one of Fratelli Toso’s historic glassmaking workshops, now converted into an exhibition space and gallery: one of the places where the story of Fratelli Toso began in 1854.

Back to the Roots brings together here a selection of materials from the production and the Archive: tools, colour compositions and historic glass-batch recipes, murrine samples, drawings and catalogues, prototypes and finished works.

Together, they reveal everything that comes before the finished object and the rarely visible journey between an idea and its realization in glass: trials, experiments, errors, modifications, variations and samples.

This is not a reconstruction of a historic glassworks, but a journey through authentic traces of Fratelli Toso’s work, preserved in the very place where, for generations, they were produced and used.

An invitation to look beyond the finished object and discover the creative and production process that gave it form.
