The Pittorico vases represent one of the most original concepts developed by Pollio Perelda in the early 1960s. Made in Nerox glass with a distinctive metallic surface, they are enriched with patches of colour and decorative interventions that explicitly evoke the language of painting.
The colours appear to settle on the surface like drips or brushstrokes, transforming the glass into a kind of three-dimensional canvas. In these works, Perelda translates a deeply painterly sensibility into glass, creating objects of striking visual impact and strongly experimental character.
