1934

H 21 cm

Pulegoso glass is distinguished by a dense network of tiny bubbles created by introducing a substance into the molten glass that releases gas during the manufacturing process. Trapped within the glass, these bubbles give the material a soft, opalescent appearance, allowing it to diffuse light with remarkable delicacy.
This piece belongs to a series produced by Fratelli Toso in the 1930s. Although the forms vary, all the objects in the series are characterized by the use of white pulegoso glass and by the application of sculptural decorative elements in place of the traditional handles. This distinctive solution enhances the plastic quality of the forms, giving each piece a bold, highly sculptural character.
